VCU and the VCU Health System have been meeting regularly to determine the best ways to get you where you need to be on campus. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event for the Richmond region and we want everyone to have the opportunity to get involved. Here, you will find information about academic schedules, residence halls, telecommuting and parking.
Receive daily Bike Race Advisories (including parking information, road closures and any other UCI Worlds-related topics that impact your day at VCU) via text message during UCI Worlds. Reading days will be held on the Monroe Park Campus from Sept. 19 through Sept. 27. Please be assured that academic integrity will not be compromised as adjustments to the calendar have been made to ensure sufficient teaching hours are maintained. The reading days typically held in October each fall semester have been moved to September to accommodate the bike race.
Students in the health sciences schools (Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Allied Health Professions) will need to check with their academic program contact as each schedule will be managed separately.
All residence halls will remain open so that students needing to stay for work, volunteer opportunities, event-related courses or other event-related activities will have the option to stay on campus. Students needing to stay on campus will register with their residence hall before the event.
Telecommuting will be available at the discretion of the department and will depend on staffing and business operating needs. Employees who wish to telecommute will need to complete the special telecommuting agreement [DOC] and seek approval of their supervisor/manager. The VCU Health System will continue normal operations. Those employees with dual reporting roles will be encouraged to consult their managers to determine which operations protocol to follow.
Will parking be available? Yes, VCU parking decks will remain open. Use the map tool to plan your route, locate RamRide stops and check for road closures.
